Myra & Thelwood June 2026

A superb three night - four day trip into Strathona Provincial Park with our pals Tim and Anna!

We camped above Sandbag Lake, around 1,400 metres of elevation, setting up camp in the pouring rain. Had a funny first night under the tarp in the rain but woke up to great conditions the following morning! Our ambition was to summit Thelwood, but we underestimated the approach, so made the call to turn around after summiting Mount Thar. A long and enjoyable day out with adventurous trail finding along the ridge. The following day, we ambled up Myra in excellent alpine conditions.
